Best streaming service free trials
Hulu: 30-day free trial
New and eligible returning customers can try out Hulu’s on-demand plans with a 30-day Hulu free trial, which is four times longer than its usual 7-day free trial offer. A free trial has also returned for its Hulu with Live TV plan. New subscribers can try the cord cutting service for 3 days.
Apple TV Plus: 7-day free trial
Home to huge shows, such as Severance and Ted LassoApple TV Plus is constantly adding new titles to its slight but quality line-up. This includes blockbuster movies like CODA, Killers of the Flower Moon, Blitz and The Tragedy of Macbeth. Sign up and see if it’s for you with the Apple TV Plus free trial.
Prime Video: 30-day free trial
If you’re new to Amazon Prime, or you click the above link and see the option to ‘Start your free 30-day trial’, then you’ll be able to become a temporary Amazon Prime member, which gives you access to Prime Video. Just be aware that the Prime Video free trial will mean you have to put up with ads.
Paramount Plus: 7-day free trial
Every month, a new batch of content is added to Paramount Plus, giving subscribers plenty of options to peruse and you can have a sneak peek for yourself thanks to the Paramount Plus free trial offer. The service has more than 30,000 movies and shows, though, so don’t expect to get through it all.
Philo: 7-day free trial
One of the cheapest cable alternatives is Philo, a service which offers a niche package of cable channels, including: Comedy Central, Logo, Hallmark, VH1, and MTV. Starting at just $28 a month, new customers can enjoy a seven-day free trial period to test out the service and see if it’s the one for you.
FuboTV: 7-day free trial
Want a more comprehensive cord cutter option than Sling TV or Philo? Fubo TV is a great option, but it is more expensive, especially after a price hike in January 2025 that increased the Fubo TV cost. Luckily, you can get a seven-day free trial and get a taster of what the platform is all about.
Streaming deals FAQs
What is the best streaming deal right now?
Truthfully, it comes down to personal preference where the best streaming deal is concerned. Some streaming services will offer an exceptional discount on certain plans, but the content available won’t be to certain people’s tastes.
Those looking for a cheaper alternative to cable, Sling TV has you covered with its current 50% off deal across all its plans. But there’s also Fubo TV, where you can get $25 off your first month, as well as YouTube TV’s 27% saving on its base plan for your first six months.
If you simply want a selection of great on-demand entertainment, we cannot recommend the Disney Plus bundle enough. Get Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus for just $16.99 a month with ads, or opt out of commercials for $26.99 a month.
There are also plenty of annual discounts on offer; Starz’s 12-month subscription saving brings the cost down to just $3 a month, Paramount Plus and Showtime is only $10 a monthor $119.99 annually, and Max is a mere $8.30 a month with an annual plan.
Which streaming service is the cheapest?
When we bring it down to numerical value, Paramount Plus and Peacock TV are the cheapest streaming services out there for US customers, with both offering baseline plans from $7.99 a month. However, it does come down to personal preference. What some might deem entertaining, others may see as utter trash.
Apple TV Plus is great value for money at $9.99 a month. While its library still remains fairly streamlined, you can’t argue that there is hefty budget put behind its productions and their big-name casting.
The best way to try out all the best streaming services for free, though, is by taking advantage of free trial offers. Unfortunately, many of these introductory offers have since disappeared, so you can no longer find the Disney Plus free trial or Max free trial or Sling TV free trial offers anymore sadly, but there’s plenty still to choose from for now.
Are you able to bundle Hulu with other services?
Of course! Hulu is a part of the excellent value Disney Plus bundle – and its offering just got even better and more versatile. Not only can you chosoe to bundle Hulu with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus for just $16.99 a month (or pay $10.99 a month for just Hulu and Disney Plus), streaming service Max is now involved in one of the best streaming deals going. Get Disney Plus, Hulu, and Max from $16.99 a month.
You also have the option of adding on a number of excellent services to your standalone Hulu subscription. Choose between Max, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz, or have a combination of all four depending on what you want to be able to watch. In some cases, you’ll even be able to trial these services before paying.
Which streaming service is the best in 2025?
The best streaming service is not as clear cut as it once was. With nearly every major streamer either raising prices, introducing ads, cracking down on password sharing or cancelling shows, there’s no single best service in this shifting race.
Many count Netflix as the best all-rounder for genre hoppers, thanks to its wealth of great movies and TV shows as well as its own hugely popular Original series and different plans to cater for what you want and how much you’re willing to pay.
But Prime Video is the best for offering sheer range, as its content library in the US is considered among the biggest. For families, we’d direct people towards Disney Plus, which is also home to FX and Star shows that debut on the US service Hulu.
Out of the remaining big Hollywood studios, we can’t forget Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max, which is also home to the best HBO shows – those in the UK, have to head over to Sky or Now to access this content instead.
There’s also a great range of movies and shows on Paramount Plus as well as on Apple TV Plus. While these service’s catalogs are on the smaller side, they do make up for it by offering a great range of quality content.
